Meditation and Newly Mown Lawn

I have been trying to find a time when I can meditate each day. 4:00 p.m. seems to be the optimal time or at least anytime up until 5:00 p.m. After that, it gets into Feline Princesses Dinner Time, and I am sure you can imagine how annoying all the meowing can be while trying to meditate.

Today was a warm day, and I decided to meditate on the back deck. There is a lovely table for my books and a comfortable chair for me. The sun had just passed the Temple of Gaia, and there was only a slight breeze. I selected a reading for today, and then settled down to meditate. It was then that I heard it. The lawn service guys had arrived.

I suppose that, if I had been deeply meditating, I should have just worked through the noise. However, there is always the self-conscious part of this. Do I really want the lawn service guys looking at me while I meditate? The answer to that is an emphatic No!

So I calmly gathered all my books and stuff together and made it into the Temple just as the lawn mower moved into the back yard. I managed to find a place to settle down and got back to meditating. By the time I was done, it was one minute before 5, and the lawn guys were gone.

I am currently reading a book on channeling. I have just finished a discussion about the various types of channeling there are. I never knew that channeling could be broken up into categories like that. The final one discussed was a particular type of trance which I had always called my “vision dreams”. It was a small, but important, validation.

So, between the lawn mower, the kitty dinnertime, the 2 readings and the vision dream, I managed to meditate for a whopping 10 minutes. Imagine what I can accomplish in 20!
