Hanging Out with Mediums

Over the past 12 months, I have acquired 2 groups of friends who are mediums. They are very nice, well-meaning people, and they have finally merged into a single message for me. “Write!” the mediums at the Shrine tell me. “Write, write, write!” the mediums at the Learning Center chant. “You are a natural story-teller!” the one Reverend tells me. Write, write, write – the exhortations grow ever louder. There is only one problem with this. None of them provide me with a topic.

I do not have the gift of coming up with topics. I truly feel that I have nothing to say. I ask them politely, “What would you like me to write about?” Then they collectively look confused, because they do not remember the messages that they just gave. Perhaps I should just write down their messages? Those, for the most part, though,  are specific to the person they are reading for, and I can’t imagine that that is what I should be writing about.

The cosmic shift, though, occurred last week at the Learning Center. One of the mediums looked at me and said, “You are retiring soon, aren’t you?” (My last day at work is, actually, the day after tomorrow.) When I nodded, she announced triumphantly, “Now you can start writing! And do it outside! Write about nature!” Finally, I received a topic I can live with!

And so, now that I have a topic, perhaps I can work on this blog more often than just October.

The next challenge is to be able to sit down long enough to do it. 🙂

Thank you to all the mediums everywhere, who work long and hard to help others. Hanging out with mediums is fun.

  1. Mediums are fun because they’re unique!
