Blogging as a Spiritual Discipline, Year #3

Once again, it is time to embark on my “31 Days to Samhain” ritual of blogging every day as a spiritual discipline. During the rest of the year, I look upon this exercise as enjoyable. In fact, I am looking forward to it right now! By next week, my enthusiasm may start to wane. By the third week, it will be agony. This is the discipline part of “spiritual discipline”.

In the past few months, a medium I know has been encouraging me to write. “Write anything!” she exhorts me. “Write all your stories!” I appreciate her persistence, but I find it difficult to write without a topic. Ideas flit through my mind and are gone by the time I reach my computer. Without something to write about, I spend most of my limited writing time pacing. I have compiled a list of about 7 items to start this month off, and other ideas may develop from some of those. However, I appreciate comments from you, my readers. First of all, it is less lonely if I have you to converse with. Secondly, you have perspectives on things that I may not necessarily have considered. Thinking is cool. Please help me do it.

So, between the medium (who puts the spiritual in “spiritual discipline”) and the daily blogging, I begin this exercise for the third year in a row. Wish me luck!

And thanks in advance for your input.
